Many expatriates are not going home for fear of not being able to return

Despite having a green card, travel pass, and Bangladeshi passport, many expatriates are still afraid to return home. Their fear is that they may not be able to return after leaving America. If they are unable to answer all the questions when they face second questioning at the airport, it could be dangerous.

Even the green card may be canceled. As a result, the number of passengers going to Bangladesh this year may be less than other years. Because many people are not buying summer tickets yet. Many people go on summer vacation to celebrate Eid al-Adha in the country. This time, these passengers may also be less.

Attorneys and experts say that if those who have legally obtained green cards by providing truthful information and following the rules have not committed any crimes or broken any laws and maintain their permanent immigrant status in the United States, then they will not have any problems. They can leave or come to the country at any time.

If someone gets a green card by providing false information and is caught, they could be in trouble. Those who got a green card to become immigrants in this country but did not stay here regularly after receiving it, but come to this country whenever they need it during the year and take all kinds of benefits, including healthcare, could be in danger. Those who come only to maintain their green card status and take advantage of it may face a second questioning. Failure to provide correct answers may result in the green card being revoked.

In this regard, Bangla Travels CEO and President Mohammad B. Hossain said, “We are booking tickets, there is no problem. Those who have committed crimes have a different story. The common people have no problem. However, many are considering the situation.”

Attorney Khairul Bashar said, “There was a time when many people thought that if they had a green card, they could come to America at any time, return to their country. That way, they could maintain their status. Maybe they would come once or twice a year to maintain their status.”

They now have to change this habit. They have to prove that he is a permanent resident here. You also have to prove that you are continuously living in the country. People with these statuses, who have committed crimes, who have received green cards through asylum cases in this country, or who have travel documents, can face problems if they go to their country and return. Because he said he fears for his life in his own country. That is why he has sought asylum in this country. During the asylum process or immediately after receiving it, if he returns safely to his country, it is natural for this question to arise: how did someone who got a green card saying he feared for his life go back to his country and return safely?
